Among the Volkswagen models getting new features is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf, which will be adding an all-new Wolfsburg Edition trim level. Since its announcement, the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has been touted as a viable choice for families looking for a more compact vehicle. Not only does the Alltrack offer a spacious interior and impressive capability, but now it has also proven to be a safe choice as well. When examining the 2017 Golf Alltrack, the NHTSA assessed front, side and rollover crash tests. Much of the Alltrack’s success in its crash tests is credited to its new 4Motion® All-Wheel Drive performance, sturdy SportWagen construction, and its winning combination of active and passive safety features. Volkswagen shares details on new BUDD-e microbus concept model
Volkswagen microbus concept model First revealed earlier this year, the Volkswagen BUDD-e microbus concept model made its New York Auto Show Debut late last month, offering new details on the highly anticipated Volkswagen microbus concept model. Not only does the model offer the spacious interior fans of the original VW bus have been asking for, but it does so while taking in-car technology to the next level. New Technology Designed to appeal to VW enthusiasts both young and old, the BUDD-e microbus will be the first VW model based on the new Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB), which has been designed specifically for plug-in vehicles, offering new and improved range capability. With the MEB system, the concept microbus is estimated by the EPA to be capable of achieving a range of 233 miles, making it quite the game-changer for the EV segment. That’s not all the microbus has in store for technology fans, either. The interior of the BUDD-e features a wide range of new technology not yet seen in the VW line. Technology will be a big staple inside the new microbus, with multiple innovative touchscreen displays and the models new control system. Inside this vehicle, pushing buttons and flipping switches will be a thing of the past as this new model will feature only touch and gesture control system. With this new system, controlling your vehicle and infotainment system will be as easy as waving your hand. Other great tech to be included in the VW microbus include: e-Mirror, which uses an integrated rearview camera rather than a tradition standard mirror. Multi-functional steering wheel 3.0, which is completely switchless. Functions normally found on the steering wheel can be activated with pressure or swipe gestures. Raised buttons on the operating stack surface replace the traditional shift paddle. Sensors are able to recognize specific people as the approach the vehicle with the gesture control system. A vehicle such as this just goes to how far Volkswagen technology has come. While this model offer so much in terms of technology, it still harkens back to its VW origins with its reminiscent styling elements. 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack production model makes US debut
2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack specs and features Since the first announcement that it would be arriving stateside, VW enthusiasts across the country have been anticipating the US debut of the production-version of the all-new Golf Alltrack. Now that the hatchback has finally made its appearance, we here at Speedcraft Volkswagen are happy to finally have some information on the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack specs and features to share with you! With its styling based off of the Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, the new Golf Alltrack offers new levels of style and practicality thanks to its new exterior elements and improved performance and capability. You’re in for an exhilarating drive behind the wheel of the new Alltrack model thanks to its new 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder TSI gasoline engine with its direct-injection powertrain. With this new engine, the Alltrack is capable of outputting 170 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. For the original model, the Alltrack will feature a six-speed dual-clutch DSG® automatic transmission. But don’t worry, manual fans – a six-speed manual transmission model will become available at a later date for those who are interested. New Golf Alltrack offroad capability When driving on the road, the Alltrack is reported to offer the affordable efficiency and easy handling of a compact hatchback model, however what is grabbing the most attention is its 4MOTION® all-wheel drive system. While the original SportWagen was great on its own, offering great performance and affordable fuel economy, popular demand among drivers has brought new capability to the hatchback. With the new 4MOTION system, the Alltrack features the latest generation of Haldex-5 coupling, activated through an electro-hydraulic oil pump. Don’t worry about this system affecting your efficiency, the Alltrack functions as a normal front-wheel drive vehicle during your day-to-day driving. But once you need it, or if the system detects a wheel slip, up to 50 percent of its drive torque can be shifted to the rear wheels, allowing for some easy off-road driving and traction in poor weather conditions. 2017 Golf Alltrack new styling Even though the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has the same general design as the Golf SportWagen, it is easily distinguishable. New, distinct styling features are included with the Alltrack, including unique front and rear bumpers, wheel wells and side sills. The last two are designed to offer additional protection during off-road driving. The Alltrack is also distinguishable by its new, pretty face. The model features a new front fascia, accented by new fog lights and an eye-catching honeycomb grille. Depending on the trim level you get, the Alltrack offers different wheels. For the S and SE trims, it features 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while the top tier SEL trim will come with 18-inch wheels. The model will also have silver detailing, roof rails, matte mirror caps and a diffusor for a more premium look. Speaking of premium features, the interior of the new model has a received a major upgrade when compared to the SportWagen. The production model of the Alltrack will feature standard leatherette seating surfaces along with aluminum pedal covers, door sills with ambient lighting and Alltrack branding for a high-class, sporty look and feel. 2017 VW Golf Alltrack release date While we don’t have a specific date as to when the new Alltrack will become available here at Speedcraft Volkswagen, we do know that it is set to start arriving on lots starting this coming fall 2016.
