However, once in a while we will experience a heat wave where the temperatures can get up into the 80s, 90s, or even the 100s. And when the sun is shining bright, the mercury rises even more! So how hot can the cabin of your Volkswagen model get? Some resources say that the temperatures can reach as high as 200 degrees – especially if you have dark interior features/fabrics. That can make driving rather painful – especially when you have to touch the hot steering wheel (hint: throw a towel over your steering wheel before you exit your Volkswagen to keep the surface temperature down). Those hot temperatures are not only uncomfortable, but also incredibly dangerous for pets and children! Speaking of habitats, you can learn about marine wildlife at one of the best aquariums/marine centers in Rhode Island, which is the Exploration Center & Aquarium in Newport. Here, you can get a good look at marine animals like lobsters and seahorses that are native to the Narragansett Bay. There are also touch tanks so you can pet some of the more docile creatures.
