Spring is almost here. Soon, the weather will start warming up and we can all get out and enjoy the sunshine. If you are searching for the perfect way to take in the great outdoors this spring and summer, check out one of these hiking trails near Providence RI.

Wolf Hill Forest Preserve Trail

This 4.5-mile loop is located near Smithfield. The moderate trail features a variety of terrain and sight-seeing opportunities. Landmarks include a waterfall, a WWII Memorial to a bomber crash site, an abandoned 1940s Boy Scout Camp and many view of Providence and the upper bay area.

Breakheart Loop Trail

Breakheart Loop Trail covers a 3.7 route near Exeter. Scenery includes a lake and several small streams. The terrain is rated as moderate in difficulty. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash.

Long Pond Woods Trail

Another short trail, Long Pond Woods covers 4,4 miles and is also rated as moderate in difficulty. Like the name implies, scenery includes a lake along with several other features.

Big River Trail

Hikers looking for a longer trail will want to head for Big River Trail. This 17.8-mile loop is rated as moderate. Scenery includes a lake. Dogs are also allowed on the trail, but must be kept on a leash.
