2021 Volkswagen Arteon Review

Design

Modern art for the road.

The first look is long, and followed by a second one of close-to-equal length. It’s part automobile, part sculpture. And it’s all yours.

There’s a lot to stare at inside too.

The standard and available features on the Arteon help explain why it’s justifiably called a premium sedan. Within the plush and spacious interior is a long list of things that delight both driver and passenger.

Extra style for a car that has plenty.

The available R-Line trim adds a sportier appearance inside and out.

Technology

Top-of-the-line tech, at your fingertips.

The standard and available features on the Arteon help explain why it’s justifiably called a premium sedan. Within the plush and spacious interior are a long list of things that delight both driver and passengers.

Timeless design. Modern technology.

Technical features abound in the Arteon, with each one bringing an equal amount of both innovation and style.

Enjoy a better view.

When it comes to tech, the Arteon can bring it. With an available Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, you can personalize your settings to highlight different information including full-screen navigation—all on a high-resolution, 10.25″ display.

Take your apps for a ride.

To start App-Connect, simply plug in your compatible smartphone or connect it wirelessly and watch as your select apps appear on the touchscreen display of your Volkswagen.

Performance

Turn the sleek lines into wavy ones.

The look may be classic, but it’s far from the only story. We gave the Arteon a host of performance features that help make it as much fun to drive as it is to stare at.

Aerodynamic. With extra dynamic.

-Available 4MOTION® all-wheel drive
-Progressive steering system
-XDS® Cross Differential System

Heads will turn. And quickly.

As you can see from the numbers below, great style isn’t the only thing the Arteon has going for it.

-258 Lb-Ft of torque

Safety

A lot goes in before you do.

Safety is a core value to us. And while we can’t predict everything you might encounter, we can and do spend long hours trying to help you prepare for it.

Stay focused.

Benefit from the view of a wide lens when you want it. It can help you see obstacles when backing up, a feature so helpful you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it.

We’re rigid about safety.

Front and rear crumple zones help absorb crash energy, while a rigid safety cage helps distribute forces away from the driver and passengers.

Intelligent by design.

In the event of a collision that deploys the airbags, the ICRS can turn off the fuel pump, unlock the doors, and activate the hazard lights. It helps react if you might not be able to.

We think ahead.

Not every collision brings a car to stop. That’s why our vehicles include the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System. It can also help slow the vehicle down after a collision, helping reduce the chance of any additional impacts.

Safety. Engineered from the ground up.

Monitoring and maintaining proper air pressure in your tires helps with efficiency and safety. The TPMS helps alert you to a loss of tire pressure so you know when to add air.

Equipped for peace of mind.

From Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD), which helps maintain appropriate stopping power during a hard-braking situation, to Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which can adjust engine throttle and apply corrective forces to the wheels that need them most, your vehicle is equipped with a total of six stability-enhancing systems.
